Rosalind Davis is an artist-curator and a graduate of The Royal College of Art (2005) and Chelsea College of Art (2003).
Artist Biog:
As an artist Davis’ central concern is the transformation and reconfiguration of architecture and space through multiple disciplines.
Davis has exhibited nationally and internationally in a wide range of galleriesand has had a number of solo shows in London: the Bruce Castle Museum (2013); John Jones Project Space; Julian Hartnoll Gallery (2009); The Residence Gallery (2007) and The Stephen Lawrence Centre. Selected group exhibitions have been at the Courtauld Institute, the Foundry Gallery, JGM Gallery, Laurent Delaye Gallery, Bo Lee Gallery, Thameside Gallery, Arthouse1 Gallery, Standpoint Gallery, Transition Gallery; The Roundhouse, APT Gallery; Koppel Projects, no format Gallery, the Lion and Lamb Gallery; The ING Discerning Eye; the Lynn Painters Stainers Prize (London) Phoenix Brighton, DOK (Edinburgh) and with the UK Young Artists (Derby). Her work is held in a number of private collections and public collections including Soho House.
Since 2018 Davis has alongside her own practice worked on collaborations with artist Justin Hibbs making site specific works for no format gallery, Seven Oaks Kaleidoscope Gallery, Arthouse1 and My Cup of Coffee is your Cup of Tea, the Foundry Gallery (London, 2019). In 2020 they had works in ‘The Collectors Room’at JGM Gallery curated by Karen David and ‘Substance Bundle’at Koppel Projects curated by Alexander Stavrou. Their most recent collaboration was in 2021 for ITV Creates with Jamal Sterrett.
About Rosalind as an Arts Professional:
Rosalind Davis is a curator, art consultant, teacher, writer of What they Didnt Teach You in Art School and designer.
Davis is a passionate and dedicated art professional. She has curated over 30 exhibitions to date and was the Curator at Collyer Bristow Gallery in London 2016 -20 and independently curates’ projects. In 2021 she curated Trace Elements | 1971 at The Factory Project produced by Thorp Stavri, an ambitious alternative art fair which had over 17,000 visitors.
In 2023 she has curated an ambitious multi-disciplinary exhibition for ArtHouse Jersey with Laura Hudson.. Featuring the work of 23 acclaimed UK, international and Jersey-based artists exploring the concept of 'home' in the 21st century, this exhibition invites people to consider‘home’ on a personal, national, global and even cosmic scale, with works being shown in and outside of the gallery and has been featured in Forbes and Jersey Evening Post multiple times.Please see No PLace Like Home in Rosalinds curatorial part of her website.
Previous curatorial projects have been at Standpoint Gallery, Arthouse1 and Geddes Gallery. Davis co-directed Zeitgeist Arts Projects (2012-15) at Bond House Gallery (ASC) and Core Gallery 2010-12. In both organizations she ran a number of curatorial projects, an artist’s education programme as well as tutorials and art tours. In 2023 she recently delivered a curatorial project for UK New Artists and will be curating an ambitious group show at Arthouse Jersey in September.

Davis is co-author of ‘What they didn’t teach you at art school’ and has written a number of articles for a-n and other arts publications. She lectures at universities, galleries and organisations across the country including the RCA, ICA, Camden Arts Centre, UAL and for various universities outside of London as well as online for the VAA and Professional Artists Institute.
Davis has been a mentor for a-n, Artquest, PLOP, UKNA and Shape as well as working independently with creatives for many years. She has led art tours for many orgs including the ICA (London and Boston) and the Whitechapel Gallery and contributed to BBC4’s Film ‘Tales of Winter’ as well as a number of podcasts, online talks and interviews for various arts publications.
Davis has been on many judging panels to select works for exhibitions and prizes including being an Expert judge for Jacksons Painting Prize, the Robert Walters UK Young Artist of the Year Award, Chapel Arts Studios and the VAA to name a few.
